With record attendance and a star-studded final day lead card, the 2025 United States Disc Golf Championship and Throw Pink Championship set a new bar. Fans showed up in force starting Thursday, packing the fairways and filling the redesigned Championship Village. They were treated to four days of world-class disc golf through windy conditions that made the course all the more punishing.
For Team Innova, Estonian breakout, Anneli Tõugjas-Männiste took 2nd at Throw Pink, her best result at a tournament of this caliber. Sofia Donnecke charged from below the cash line after round one all the way into 4th with the hot round on Sunday. And Calvin Heimburg once again proved he’s one of the game’s most consistent performers on the top stages.

2025 Championship Week lived up to its billing as the biggest celebration of disc golf in the world. At the center of the Championship Village, a massive new pavilion created a true gathering place — somewhere to catch the live coverage, grab a bite, shop for merch, meet your heroes, and reconnect with disc golf friends. Each night, the Fresh & Now concert series filled the Village with grooves from national and regional acts that had pro disc golfers dancing alongside fans.
The social media coverage by athletes, fans, manufacturers, etc. was more prolific and varied than ever before. And the coverage from DGN and Jomez brought us up close and personal with one of the most gripping weeks at Winthrop of the past decade.
After 27 years as the presenting sponsor, the Championship remains one of Innova’s proudest traditions — a year-round passion project that embodies our love for disc golf. Though Innova didn’t come away with the win on the course, hosting a successful event of this scale and quality is a win of its own.
Anneli Tõugjas-Männiste delivered the best performance of her career to date. She finished 2nd at the Throw Pink Women’s Disc Golf Championship, her highest placement at a top-tier event. Her 999 event rating was a personal best, and her 1022-rated, -7 third round was the highest-rated round of her career.
Anneli was 2nd in the field in C1x putting for the event, showing clutch composure under pressure. She also connected on multiple highlight-reel Circle 2 putts throughout the event. Beyond her play, Anneli’s poise in post-round interviews earned admiration and likely a surge of new fans. She seemed to be smiling and having fun the entire tournament. It was a defining performance for the rising Estonian star, and great to see her enjoying it.

Sofia Donnecke had a slow start to the week, but didn’t let it ruin her tournament. After sitting below the cut line following Round 1, she charged all the way to 4th place, gaining ground with each round and shooting the hot round on Sunday at -4. At the MVP Open just two weeks back, she also shot the hot final round to earn her spot in the Tour Championship.
Sofia made her Tour debut at Throw Pink in 2023 and has expressed that this tournament is meaningful to her. This week, she showed just how far her game has come in the past two years. Her continued rise points toward an exciting 2026.

Calvin Heimburg once again proved he belongs in every big tournament conversation. At the 2025 USDGC, he finished 4th overall, to round out a season of all Top 10s at Majors. His 1062 event rating speaks to how solid his performance was across the board. He led the field in Strokes Gained Tee to Green for the very windy week at Winthrop.
Calvin played on a dream final round lead card, with some of the sport’s most popular and dominant players. The massive Winthrop gallery following them on Championship Sunday was the largest in tournament history.

Eveliina Salonen bounced back from a tough Round 1 to finish T-6th. Out of 14 events in 2025, Eve only missed the top 10 twice.

After qualifying for Throw Pink with a hot -5 during Monday Qualifying, Kona opened her tournament with a rough first round. But she put that behind her and went on to shoot three par or better rounds in brutal wind to finish 11th. That climb from 44th place to 11th is one of the most impressive comebacks of the season.
