Ohn Scoggins Makes History at the 2025 PDGA Pro World Championships

Smiling All the Way to Victory

Ohn Scoggins is your 2025 PDGA Pro World Champion — the oldest to ever claim the title, and the first to win both FP40 and FPO Worlds in the same season. Ohn did it the only way she knows how: drilling deep putts with an ear-to-ear smile on her face, in front of the biggest crowd in disc golf history. She never expected this. The fans always hoped. And when the final putt dropped, Ohn dropped to the ground with it, tears of joy falling — years of heart and hard work culminating in one unforgettable moment.

Ohn Top of the World

Four Back With Four to Go

Ohn Scoggins started the final round four strokes off the lead. With just four holes to go, that margin remained. Then came hole 16 — the island hole known all week as the round-changer. Henna Blomroos, leading at the time, went OB twice. Ohn carded the birdie. Just like that, the gap was one.

On 18, Ohn was one stroke behind Iida Lehtomäki. She needed a birdie to force the first FPO playoff in PDGA Pro Worlds history — and she got one. That set up a final where history had already been made; either the youngest or the oldest PDGA World Champion of all-time would be crowned.

Back on 18 for the playoff, Iida, the 15-year-old Finnish prodigy, looked in position to win. But when her approach came up short and Ohn’s upshot stuck inside the circle, the pressure flipped. Iida laid up. Ohn, perfect from C1 all day, stepped up. It wasn’t a long putt — but the weight behind it couldn’t have been heavier. And she hit it for the win.

Ohn dropped to the ground, overwhelmed by the emotion of the biggest moment any disc golfer can experience. In her post-round interview, Ohn said she never really thought she could win Worlds. She just aimed to do her best and play her game.

Turns out, Ohn’s best was better than everyone else’s over five rounds in Finland at the 2025 PDGA Pro World Championship.

A Performance Built on the Green

Ohn led the field in Scramble Rate, C1 Putting, Strokes Gained C1X, Strokes Gained C2, and overall Strokes Gained Putting. She was perfect from Circle 1 in the final round and hit 6 out of 9 from Circle 2. Ohn is the living embodiment of “putt for dough.”

Improving Year After Year

Ohn played her first DGPT event in 2020. Her first Elite win came in 2023 at DGLO. In 2024, she took down two more — The Open at Austin and LWS — and had what many considered her best season yet. But in 2025, after three Pro Tour podiums and no wins heading into Worlds, few had her circled as the favorite.

Now, she’s added the biggest title of them all — proving, year after year, that her ceiling is still rising, even at 44. Age is a mindset, and disc golf is more a game of experience than a game of power.

A Champion Everyone Can Root For

This wasn’t just an all-time Worlds because of the drama down the stretch — it’s because of who won. Ohn is universally loved across the disc golf world. Her cards are lighter and more fun for her being there. Her energy is infectious. She fist-bumps fans, chats with competitors, and plays with the kind of joy that makes disc golf feel like disc golf. In the 2024 FPO Fandom Survey, she ranked second overall.

Even during the final round, she was heard cheering for Henna’s disc to stay in bounds on hole 16. That’s who she is — fiercely competitive, but always rooting for good golf.

She practices harder than almost anyone — known for long, focused putting sessions — but never lets the pressure take away her love for the game. That’s the kind of player we want representing our sport. And now, as the newest Pro World Champion, she’ll be all the more in the spotlight, continuing to lead by joyful example.

Now You Know Who Iida Lehtomäki Is

At just 15 years old, Iida Lehtomäki finished in 2nd place — one stroke away from becoming the youngest PDGA World Champion ever. She led the event in both Birdie Percentage and Bogey Avoidance, a combination that would normally signal a runaway win. But one disastrous hole added eight strokes to her score, the deciding factor in an otherwise brilliant performance. In front of the biggest crowd in disc golf history, Iida showed poise well beyond her years. She’ll have another shot next season, still with a chance to tie the age record held by Sam Ferrans, who won Worlds at 16.

Henna Leads Late, Ties for 3rd

Henna Blomroos was in control for much of the final round and tied for 3rd overall. She led the field in Fairway Hits, Parked Percentage, and Circle 1 Hits in Regulation — a showcase of her elite tee-to-green skillset. If she starts connecting on more putts, Henna has the potential to become one of the most dominant players in the game.

2024 Champ Still in Top Form

Eveliina Salonen, the 2024 PDGA World Champion, finished 7th. She led the field in Circle 2 Hits in Regulation and Strokes Gained Tee to Green — continuing her streak of statistical excellence in the biggest events of the season.
