Paul Oman entered the final round five strokes back. He needed a spark—and got it with an ace on hole 10. That kicked off a furious run, going nine under through the final nine holes to force a playoff.
He sealed the win there, earning his first PDGA Major title in unforgettable fashion. Oman led the division in Fairway Hits, C2 Hits in Regulation, and Strokes Gained Tee to Green. For a player whose passion for the game is written all over his play, this one had to feel extra special.
